The 156, named Car of the Year in 1998, is a medium-sized sedan (4,43 x 1,73 meters) based on a light structure and aerodynamic shape. Both in the Coupe and in the Sportswagon versions the aesthetic proportions are linear and the weight distribution well-calibrated. The car is light thanks to the many measures adopted, such as some components in magnesium alloy. The interior is of excellent quality and will be improved in 2002 with the launch of the second generation, which will induce new digital infotainment. In total, three series of the 156 were produced, and then the 156 has been replaced by the Alfa Romeo 159. In all generations, there was a wide choice in the type of engine from 100 to 200 horsepower. Below I have written the information about the cheapest configuration of the third generation.
