The Alfa Romeo 4C is a sports car as small (3.98 meters long) as interesting and innovative! The name indicates the number of cylinders in the engine, as is it happened before with the models 6C, 8C Classic, and 8C Competizione. Its design is innovative, and is not following the trend: the aggressive nose features headlights you might find on an alien spaceship, and the back is full of detailed lines. Another very interesting thing, especially considering a base price of around 65.000€, is that the body is made entirely of carbon, which weighs just 65 kilograms… something that many supercars would envy! The total weight of this vehicle is 895kg. However, the interior is sparse and not very spacious, and barely contains two people (as long as they are not too tall). For the engine, however, there is only one option, which is not particularly powerful. We are talking about a 1.7 liter with 240 horsepower combined with a double-clutch gearbox called “TCT”, absolutely less powerful than the engines of some rivals with a similar price such as the BMW M2 Competition (420HP, 67.000€) or the Audi TT RS (400HP, 69.000€), but we should also remember that these cars have a quite different structure and are much heavier. Alfa Romeo thought of this vehicle as an old-fashioned sports car, so there are very few standard technologies, but there is a 7-inch color on-board screen. The 4C was produced from 2013 to 2019, and also on a “Spider” version, but the first concept dates back to 2011. Among its opponents, in addition to those already listed, we find the Porsche 718 Cayman and the Lotus Exige.
