The Apollo Intensa Emozione, abbreviated IE, is one of the most extreme and expensive hypercars of the 21st Century, as well as the successor to the legendary Gumpert Apollo. It’s built by the German brand Apollo with the collaboration of the Italian Manifattura Automobili Torino; for this reason, “intensa” and “emozione” are Italian words, whose meaning is respectively “intense” and “emotion”. The IE, which is based on the 2016 concept car Apollo Arrow, has enormous dimensions (5,06 x 1,99 meters) and a sophisticated design, with also very special colors (the one in the photo is called Golden Dragon). Needless to say, the whole body is in carbon fiber. According to the designers, many details regarding aesthetics and aerodynamics are inspired by insects and other natural entities. Even the interior is full of carbon fiber to maintain the car light; in fact, the Apollo IE weighs just 1250 kilograms, which is impressive considering the engine that it contains and its dimensions! The interior is also very futuristic: the steering wheel features twelve configurable buttons and the driver benefits of an impressively big virtual cockpit; in the roof, there’s a touch screen display from which it is possible to set some basic functions, such as air conditioning. The Intensa Emozione is powered by a V12 780HP engine, which can reach over 9000rpm, sounding like an old V10 F1 car. This vehicle is officially presented in 2017, and the sale begins two years later in just ten exemplary, which were all sold in the first months.
