The 1st gen. Aston Martin Vanquish was introduced in 2001 as heir to the Virage-based Vantage. This 4,66 meters long and 1,92 wide Coupe is characterized by classic and timeless lines that make it appear as a traditional and elegant car. With perfectly designed lines and proportions, the Vanquish is so elegant and qualitatively well built that many consider it one of the most beautiful cars ever made. The Vanquish’s beating heart is a powerful V12 manufactured with large use of aluminum alloy. This 6-liter 466HP motor is also well known for its deep and rocky sound. Three years later the Vanquish’s debut, the engine has been replaced by its 528HP “S” variant. The only gearbox available is automatic. Starting from 2004, this vehicle was also produced in a “Roadster Zagato” Convertible variant. During the same year also the “Bertone Jet II” version was released in just one example. The Bertone Jet II has the same mechanics as the standard version but presents a longer chassis that can accommodate up to four passengers. In 2007, a few months before the production of the 1st gen. had ended, a special “S Ultimate Edition” was produced and sold in just 40 examples. This variant is still mechanically identical, but features the special “Ultimate Black” color and even more exclusive and detailed interior. Since it’s an expensive and niche product, the 1st gen. Vanquish wasn’t supported by a strong advertising campaign, but obtained popularity in the media after being driven by James Bond in “Die another day”.
