Recognizable by the code name “F5”, the second generation of the Audi RS5 was born in 2017 in the Coupe and, starting from 2019, also in the Sportback version. Compared to the previous generation (the 8T), the RS5 F5 is longer (the new Coupe measures 472 centimeters in length, the new Sportback 478, and the old RS5, in all its versions, “only” 465) and has a design with less tapered and more aggressive lines. The trunk has good capacity: 410 liters in the Coupe and 465 in the Sportback. The interior, which comfortably accommodates four passengers, is very similar to that of the A5 and S5 but made original by some typical RS details, such as the leather seats with honeycomb embroidery. While the driver can benefit from a virtual cockpit now standard, the central display is a practical high-definition touch screen. With the RS5 F5 advanced safety systems have also debuted, such as ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) and CCA (Collision Avoid Assist), which uses the external cameras of the car and artificial intelligence to automatically divert the car in case of a possible impact. The engine has the same power as the previous generation, i.e. 450HP, but a different structure: the previous V8 known for its symphonic roar has been replaced by a more fuel-efficient 2.9 V6. With a 0-100km/h acceleration of just 3,9 seconds, the RS5 2nd gen. is more performing than its two main rivals, namely the BMW M4 G82 (4,2 seconds) and the Mercedes C63 AMG W205 (4,1 seconds). In 2020, a restyling made the RS5 F5 even more aggressive and made Full LED headlights as standard; the engine and the interior remained almost unchanged.
