A S 1000 RR

The “S 1000” range consists of several BMW superbikes. In fact, the following versions originate from the basic model, the S 1000 RR: there are the Crossover S 1000 XR; the Naked S 1000 R and the single-seater HP4. All these models share the mechanics and the aluminum double beam frame; we therefore speak of a family in itself. The production of the range began in 2008. Aesthetically, all versions are accumulated by a front that features two extravagant asymmetrical headlights. All models are equipped with a liquid-cooled 4-cylinder 999cc injection engine that at the time guaranteed exceptional performance thanks to a torque of 112NM at 10,000 rpm and a power of 193HP at 13,000 rpm for a dry weight of 183 kilograms. An intelligent Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and classic ABS were equipped as standard. The aluminum rims brakes are associated with three powerful Brembo discs. The mechanics were revised for the first time with a slight update in 2012. In 2015, the engine was updated: it gained 6HP thanks to a more efficient intake system. In addition, the exhaust system was lightened by 3kg, and the bike as a whole decreased in weight by 6kg. Also in 2015, Launch Control, Pit Limiter, Cruise Control and the adjustment of three driving modes (Rain, Sport and Race) were introduced as options. In 2018 the S 1000 RR dropped by another 11kg. The S 1000 RR also participated in some competitions and was used by the French and British police.
