The 2CV is probably, together with the Fiat 500 and the Volkswagen Beetle, the most iconic city car ever. Just to make you understand the meaning of this car, here are the official words of the manager of Citroen in those years regarding the production of the 2CV: “Have your services study a car that can carry two farmers in clogs and 50 kg of potatoes, or a barrel of wine, at a maximum speed of 60 km/h and with a consumption of 3 liters per 100 km. The suspensions must allow the crossing of a plowed field with a basket of eggs without breaking them, and the car must be suitable for a beginner driver and offer indisputable comfort.” It doesn’t take much more to make you realize that this car became legendary, much more so than similar models like the Ami 8 or the Dyane.
