In an age where electric vehicles were much more technically limited than how they are today, Citroen tried (as many other brands did) to test and improve these new innovative technologies by introducing the Survolt in 2010. The Survolt is a 2-door full-electric concept car 3,85 meters long and 1,87 meters wide. A futuristic design is combined with innovative and expensive technologies such as Full LED lights and a racing dashboard quite similar to today’s Formula E. Together with a huge rear spoiler, the Survolt adopts many innovative aerodynamic solutions, which are important on electric vehicles not only for performance but also for autonomy. The Survolt’s beating heart is a double engine with a total output of 300 horsepower, which guarantees to reach 100km/h (62mp/h) in “less than 5 seconds”. The autonomy range is around 200km. At the time, these performances were top-notch for an electric car. This vehicle appears in many automotive games such as Asphalt 6 and 8 and DriveClub under the name of “DS Survolt”. For this reason, this vehicle is popularly known as produced by DS Automobiles. Despite its great mediatic success and a feature on TopGear, the Survolt’s mass production never started.
