What is it?

A Formula 1 Renault R27

The F1 Team R27 is the most powerful special edition of the 3rd gen. Renault Clio ever built. Its abbreviated name “R27” is nothing more than a tribute to the homonymous Formula 1 car of the French brand, which at the time of the launch of this special Clio (in 2007) was achieving good results in competitions.

Design

Measuring 3,99 meters in length and 1,76 meters in width, the body of this vehicle is the same as the contemporary Clio RS, but has a different paint: the only colors available are black, “Dynamo” blue and “Toro” red, as well as the exclusive “Jaune Sirius” that can be seen in the photo. On request, eye-catching graphic elements such as the roof with a checkered flag theme and the doors with the stickers inherent to F1 can be engraved on these paints. In all versions, the rims, which measure 17 inches, are colored in dark anthracite, and the Brembo brake pads in red.

Interior

Inside, the R27 wouldn’t stand out particularly from the more common versions of the Clio MK3 if it weren’t equipped with exclusive Recaro racing seats. The infotainment is of average quality and mainly equipped with analog controls.

Mechanics

The R27 is powered by the same 2.0 16V 200HP and 215NM engine as the Clio RS MK3 paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. However, compared to the basic RS, the suspensions are 30% stiffer and the set-up is lowered by 7 millimeters.
