Produced From 1953 to 1962, the Ford Popular was one of the major contributors to the spread of four-wheeled vehicles to the people of the European and American middle class. It was in fact, as its name implies, a “popular” car, marketed at a time when cars still had prohibitive prices for most of the population. In total, 150,000 units were produced. The Popular was sold in two generations: the “103E” (pictured) from 1953 to 1959 and the “100E” from 1959 to 1962. The 100E is characterized by a more modern and less flashy design, less linked to the typical shapes of the cars of the 40s and 50.
