In 2014, the second generation of the Hyundai i20 comes out to achieve greater success in the European market than its predecessor. For this reason, many engineers of Western origin work on the project and define the stylistic imprint of the new i20. The design is straightforward, simple but not trivial. At the time, the i20 2nd gen. was one of the few cars in the B segment equipped with plastic side bumpers. It can be purchased in both the three-door and five-door versions. The interior of the basic equipment is essential, and even the docking station for the smartphone is an option. But a positive fact is that the habitability is excellent: despite a length of only 4,03 meters, there is also enough space in the rear seats to sit, while the trunk holds up to 326 liters (which become 1042 when the rear seats are folded down). According to the Euro NCAP, the i20 is a relatively safe car: it scores four stars out of five in crash tests. The braking system, consisting of rear drum brakes and front disc brakes, has an average quality. The engines have got 74 to 120HP. In 2018 comes a facelift version with Full LED headlights and sportier aesthetics. Also, side bumpers are removed as they are considered anachronistic and unsightly. The new multimedia system features a 5 or 7-inch touch screen display. This i20 was sold at a very competitive price and offered a 5-year warranty as a standard before being replaced by the 3rd gen. The main opponents to this vehicle are the Mazda 2, the Citroen C3, and many others.
