The Sián, presented in 2019, marks a historic step for Lamborghini: it is the first hybrid car ever produced by the Sant’Agata Bolognese brand, and it is also currently the most powerful Lamborghini ever produced. The etymology of Sián and its code name FKP37 are very interesting: in Bolognese dialect Sián means lightning, while FKP37 stands for “Ferdinand Karl Piech 1937”. Piech, born in 1937, was one of Volkswagen’s directors and had recently passed away, so this car was dedicated to him. The aesthetics of the Sián are aggressive beyond all limits and with attention to the smallest details. The whole is based on the Aventador; in fact, the Sián and the Aventador share most of their components, including the V12 heat engine of the Aventador SVJ, to which a small electric motor powered by a supercapacitor is added (a lighter and more performing option than the traditional lithium battery) which increases the overall power by 34 horsepower. To further increase power, the exhaust system has also been redesigned. Some of the technologies present inside the car are instead derived from the Huracan EVO, and it is interesting to note how some details were created using the 3D printer. The price of the Sián is high, indeed very high, even if not as high as that of the Centenario: we are talking about around 2 million euros/dollars. The Sián is produced in only 82 examples, 63 coupes, and 19 roadsters.
