In 2019 the Land Rover Defender marks a big comeback as the original series model was discontinued in 2016. There is no commonality between this new model and the previous version: now it has a less squared and rude design and gives the impression of being a more premium and technological car than before. It is sold at appropriate prices in the versions “90” and “110”. The first one is 4,3 meters long, while the second one (which we find in the photo) 4,7 meters. In addition to the size and interior space, the only significant difference is that the 90 is fitted with coil springs, while the 110 is supplied with air suspension. The new chassis is much lighter, in fact, we are talking about a monocoque aluminum structure, which is very similar to those of the Range Rover Sport and Discovery. The engines are all equipped with automatic transmission and range from 200 to 400 horsepower. There are also hybrid MHEV engines. Unfortunately, many technical choices make the new Defender less suitable for going off-road than the previous generation. The configuration options are many and are based on four basic packages called Standard, S, SE, HSE, and X. Inside we find more technology and attention to detail than in the past. Among the opponents of this car, we find the Toyota Land Cruiser and the Jeep Wrangler.
