The Lexus IS becomes even more aggressive with the introduction of the fourth generation, the XE40. Lexus creates this vehicle to increase the sales of the Japanese brand in the American market, in fact, it is not available in Europe. The design, also available in the “F Sport” sports version (pictured), follows the aesthetic lines of the previous generation, but some aesthetic details such as the taillights united in a single stripe make the new IS more futuristic. Among the options, you can choose a mini rear spoiler in carbon fiber. The interior is undoubtedly sumptuous, of excellent build quality, and quite spacious, but the infotainment is not up to date compared to that of German rivals (mainly Audi A4, Mercedes C-Class, and BMW 3 Series). However, the mix of analog and digital elements is appreciable: the display, for example, is not adjustable via a touch screen, but by a set of keys that are very pleasant for your fingers. The base engine, called 300, has an excellent power of 241HP, while the V6 variant, the 350, reaches 311HP. The XE40 benefits as standard from the “Lexus Safety System+ 2.5” package, which includes several advanced pre-collision systems. This car’s price is slightly higher than the competition.
