After 21 years of absence, the luxurious Ghibli returns in 2013 with the code name “M156”. The new gran Turismo style has little to do with the squared design of the ’92 Ghibli, which by the way is a 2-door, but is perhaps more reminiscent of the very first Ghibli, that of 1967. Among the aesthetic details, the small side “gills” are a distinctive symbol of many Maseratis. The solid construction has allowed this vehicle to get a rating of five stars in the Euro NCAP crash tests. This car is about the size of an Audi A7 / BMW 5 Series, measuring 4,97 meters in length; this allows it to have a boot with a capacity of 500 liters. Inside, the build quality is exceptional, and the cockpit is wonderful. The 8-inch central display is a touch screen, which is no small feat for a 2013 car. The engines, created in Maranello in collaboration with Ferrari and many other components, are all V6s and range from 275 (or 250 for the same engine in reduced version) to 410 horsepower. The 330HP intermediate engine is shared with the Maserati Quattroporte. In 2017 was launched a restyling that introduces sophisticated driver assistance systems, such as adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Control. Also, a new 350HP engine is introduced. In 2020 is presented the “model year 2021”, which introduces a new infotainment with a 10-inch display and a 580HP engine called “Super Trofeo” and a mild hybrid engine.
