The Maserati Mistral is an elegant car whose name derives from the homonymous cold wind from the south of France. The production, comprising only 955 units, took place from 1963 to 1970 and included the Coupe and Spider variants. Compared to its predecessor, the 3500 GT, the Mistral has a simpler and more linear design; it is also interesting to note that the glass surfaces are very large. The Mistral’s engine is inspired by that of contemporary Formula 1. Initially, the only engine available was a 235HP 3.5 inherited from the 3500 GT. Later came a 245HP 3.7 and a 255HP 4.0. All engines have a 6-cylinder in-line layout and are mated to a 5-speed ZF manual gearbox.
