What is it?

The McLaren MP4-12C has been the flagship hypercar of the British brand for several years. It inherited its name from the McLaren of Formula 1 that won the 1997 season, the MP4/12. The letter C for Carbon was added to the name of the F1 to emphasize that the car body is entirely made of carbon fiber. Given its tricky name, the MP4-12C is more commonly known simply as 12C. The 12C was proposed in 2011 as a replacement for the revolutionary McLaren F1, whose production ended in 1998 without a successor being promptly announced. In 2014, after a production of around 4.000 units, the 12C was discontinued in favor of its heir, the 650S. The variants produced are two, Coupe and Spider.

The 12C has a simple aesthetic devoted to aerodynamics and the lack of purely aesthetic appendages that could weigh down the car, whose dry weight is 1434kg, which, in relation to a body length of 4,50 meters, confirms the 12C to be a fairly light car. The interiors are simple and, of course, well finished; there is also the iconic infotainment with a vertical screen.
