In 2017, the second generation of the Peugeot 308 receives a substantial restyling. Externally, there are a new hood, grille, and bumper, and LED daytime running lights are now standard on any trim level. Inside, the new infotainment supports Android Auto and Apple Car Play, as well as many other small multimedia features. Among the technologies, the active cruise control also debuts. About the engines, a new 130HP 1.5 BlueHDi Diesel alongside and then replaces the old 120HP 1.6, while the basic 1.6 99HP engine remains. The engines with 2000 displacement now have an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard. The basic petrol engines remain the same as before but fit a new particulate filter to comply with the increasingly stringent anti-pollution regulations that Europe imposed. The GT version increases from 205 to 225HP, while the GTi, which before had two options (250 and 270HP), now has 263HP. The production of this vehicle ended in 2021, when its successor was revealed.
