The RAV4 XA50, presented in 2019, presents a radical change from the previous generation. The design is now much more modern and has very accentuated and angular lines. Although the look makes the RAV4 seem gigantic, the actual dimensions are those of a medium-sized SUV: 4.60 x 1.85 meters. The interior also has an aggressive style. Also inside the car, there is no shortage of high-level technologies: in fact, we know that Toyota usually offers flagship technologies at moderate prices, unfortunately sometimes even at the cost of compromising their build quality. And so we find innovative technologies on the RAV4 such as the ability to see, via external cameras, everything that happens around the car through the central LCD display. Safety is guaranteed by the presence of the “Safety Sense 2.0” standard package. This package includes a pre-collision system, pedestrian recognition, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beam, and traffic sign recognition. Thanks to this and to a durable body, the RAV4 achieves the maximum score of five stars in the Euro NCAP crash tests. The 2.5 hybrid engine delivers a whopping 218 horsepower, but for some reason, the top speed is limited to just 180km/h. But we have to admit that super high performance is usually not needed in a family SUV. It is possible to travel in full-electric mode up to about 50km/h. AWD traction is not standard. This car was the subject of a strong advertising campaign that focused mainly on the low pollution values of its hybrid engine. Another factor in the commercial success of the XA50 is its affordable price. The main opponents of this vehicle are the Ford Kuga and the Volkswagen Tiguan.
