At the Paris Motor Show in September 2016, Volkswagen presents the prototype of a compact, self-driving sedan with a power supply based on a modular platform, known as the MEB, intended exclusively for a range of electric models. This prototype, which is called ID., Is the first of a series of models that anticipate a future range of electric and connected cars produced by the Wolfsburg brand. The prototype in the plans of the parent company was to go on the market in 2020, with the aim of creating an electric car with a quite affordable price.
