The fourth generation of the Volkswagen Jetta was produced from 1998 to 2005, and is known by the name “Bora” in Latin America. As well as all generations of this vehicle, the 4th gen Jetta is largely inspired by the Golf, and can be considered to all intents and purposes a 3-volume variant of the Golf MK4. Since the previous generations had been criticized for their excessive similarity to the Golf, the engineers decided to give the Jetta MK4 a more distinguishable style, adopting new stylistic solutions and taking a cue from the front of the Passat. A familiar version called “Variant” also debuted. The interiors can be customized with numerous materials including wood and aluminum, depending on the chosen setting. The range of the engines is also very wide, including several options both diesel and petrol, starting from the 100HP of the 1.6 petrol and 1.9 diesel up to the 204HP of the 3.8 V6. The production of this 4th gen. ended when the 5th gen. arrived.
