The third generation of S60 was announced in 2018 when Volvo opened its new plant in Charleston, South Carolina. This version is very similar to the second generation, but at the same time totally different compared to the first one. The car is produced in the USA and, unlike the station-wagon sister Volvo V60, this sedan will not be offered with a diesel engine. Sales in Europe started in early 2019. All engines have 4 cylinders with a volume of 2 liters.
