The ZAZ decides to expand its range of vehicles by introducing the 968 in 1972. Today, however, we will talk about its evolution: the 968M of 1972. Among the aesthetic innovations: new rounded front with the adoption of the direction indicators at the center between the two light clusters, bumpers with plastic corners, elimination of the rear air conveyors replaced by two small air intakes printed directly on the side, new rectangular rear lights, suppression of the two small air vents between the rear lights in favor of an air intake on the rear hood with vent located under the rear plate; the mechanical changes instead consisted in the adoption of a new cooling system with the air intake on the left side of the rear engine hood, also a variant with an engine boosted to 50HP was presented thanks to the adoption of a double body carburetor and a dry cartridge air filter instead of an oil bath.
