In 2008, after 20 years of absence, the Bentley Brooklands production returns. The task of the new Brooklands is to replace the Continental R. The dimensions of this vehicle are nothing short of mammoth (5,41 x 1,90 meters), and the weight reaches 2700 kilograms. The high weight is also due to the chunky frame and the massive presence of sound-absorbing material: in this way the interiors are very quiet. What about the build quality? Needless to say, it’s pure luxury like in every other Bentley! There are inserts in precious woods and metals assembled by hand. Up to five people can travel comfortably and can benefit from a practical 400-liter trunk. The Brooklands equips a very powerful V8 engine that allows it to unleash 1050 newton meters of torque! As a result, the performance is very high (see the table below). This engine consumes a lot: 5.1km/l is the petrol consumption declared by Bentley itself. In 2010, after just two years of production, Brooklands exits the market, having sold only 550 units. Despite its rarity, it is now possible to buy a Brooklands for just over 100.000โ‚ฌ/$. Simply put, this car turns out to be a commercial failure.
