In 2018 BMW rejuvenated the X5 by introducing the G05. Based on the all-new “CLAR” structure (shared with the 5 and 7 Series), this fourth-generation measures almost 5 meters in length, and its sharper lines and aggressive Full LED lights contribute to make it look even bigger! The rims measure 18” in the standard variants, but they are upgradable in size up to 20”. The interior is enriched by many standard hi-tech features, such as heated seats and an advanced smartphone interface. Among the options, there are a sunroof and an adjustable suspension. All these technologies are easily manageable from a cinematic double 12” display. The X5 G05 also obtained the excellent result of 5 stars at the Euro NCAP crash tests. Mechanically, the G05 is offered in five different options: the petrol engines are the standard xDrive40i (340HP), the hybrid xDrive45e (394HP), and the high-end xDrive50i (462HP), while the Diesels are the baseline xDrive25d 231HP, the intermediates 265HP xDrive30d and 340HP xDrive40d, and the quad-turbo 400HP M50d. The M50d is also one of the most powerful gasoline engines ever built for an SUV. For those who want even more, there’s the 625HP X5 M Competition F95. The main opponents to this car are the Mercedes GLE and the Audi Q7.
