Also known as the fifth generation of the Toyota Corolla in various countries, the Toyota AE86 is a small sports car produced from 1983 to 1987 in the Trueno (thunder in Spanish) and Levin (lightning bold in Old English) variants. Both versions can have a Hatchback or Coupe bod: the only difference is that the Levin’s headlights are fixed, while those of the Trueno (pictured) are retractable. Coupled with a rear-wheel drive system and a 5-speed manual gearbox, the engine is a 128HP 1.6-liter 4-cylinder inherited from the Toyota MR2 1st gen. All four are self-ventilated disc brakes. The inspiration behind the birth of the GT86 project is attributed to the AE86.
