The Fiat 124 Familiare joined the market in 1967 and, as its name suggests, presents itself as a practical and comfortable family-oriented vehicle. The mechanics is entirely inherited from the Sedan 1966 Fiat 124 and is composed of a 1200cc 60HP engine that works together with a 4-gear manual gearbox. Since the standard 124 was criticized for the low distance travelable with a fuel, the Familiare takes benefit of its bigger dimensions by equipping a wider tank, whose capacity was upgraded from 39 to 47 liters. Three years later after its debut, the 124 Familiare received a first, slight, restyling in which some issues on the interior have been fixed and the bumper redesigned. In 1972 it’s time for a second restyling. In this facelift, the engine receives an upgrade and gains 5 horsepower. Two years later this vehicle was replaced by the new 131 Familiare.
