The second generation of the Citroen C4 debuts in 2010 at the Paris Motor Show. It is now a bit larger, and only available in the five-door variant (no longer also in the Coupe one, so as not to create competition with the DS3). Compared to the previous generation, the new lines are more sober and rounded; among the distinctive elements of the front of the exterior, there is the grille formed by the extensions of the central logo. Considering the rather small dimensions of 4,32 x 1,79 meters, the luggage compartment capacity of 409 liters in standard configuration and 1183 with the seats folded is fantastic! Inside, the new dashboard has an instrumentation illuminated thanks to blue LEDs, and there is a multifunction display on the dashboard. The seats are comfortable and have a slightly sporty setting. The C4 2nd gen. is also very resistant in crash tests, scoring five stars at the Euro NCAP. Besides, ABS and ESP are standard. Most of the mechanical elements of this 2nd gen. derive directly from the 1st gen. The brakes are all four disc brakes, and the front ones are self-ventilated. The engines have a variable power from 95 to 150HP. In 2014 comes a restyling in which some aesthetic elements and the range of engines change. The C4 faced several important cars such as the Mazda 3, the Subaru Impreza, and the Alfa Romeo Giulietta. The production of this generation ends in 2018, but its successor will arrive only in 2020.
