The 3rd gen. BMW 1-Series borns in 2019 and uses the new “UKL1” platform shared with the X1, X2 and Mini Countryman. The car becomes bigger: the 1-Series F40 is now 4,31 meters long and 1,80 wide, while the weight varies from 1350 to 1600 kilograms. The exterior design is generally more premium and detailed than before, but the interior remains similar. Mechanically, the main news is the new front-wheel-drive system. The engine’s range varies from the 109HP of the 116i to the 306HP of the M135i. The F40 is also very safe, the result of five stars at the Euro NCAP crash test confirms it! This quite expensive vehicle has to face many interesting rivals, like the Mercedes A-Class, Audi A3, Lexus CT, and Alfa Romeo Giulietta.
