In 2008, Twenty-five years after the disappearance of the second generation, Dodge presents the new Challenger. The raw and aggressive design outlines the Challenger as a muscle car par excellence, in fact, this car can be considered as the perfect symbol of Americans’ philosophy about cars. Many details such as the two pairs of round headlights are a tribute to past generations. The length exceeds five meters and the weight of the V8 Hemi model approaches 1800 kilograms. Since this car is a PURE muscle car, the engines are as powerful as they are polluting, and the infotainment is secondary. In fact, driving fun is the primary focus of the Challenger, which drifts wonderfully on the road, while most of the technologies are old and boring. The 430HP Hemi V8 engine allows the Challenger to reach 100km/h in 4,9 seconds and a top speed of 280km/h. Following a restyling, the Challenger slightly improves its infotainment and is also imported to Europe, where however the most successful engine isn’t the classic V8 but a more modest and ecological V6 which is subject to a lower taxation and has a very competitive launch price. One of the most powerful variants ever built of this car is the SRT Hellcat that you can see in the photo. This beast reaches a top speed of 320km/h (199mp/h) and 100km/h in just 3 seconds with its 717 horsepower engine! And in reality, there’s also a special version of the SRT called “Redeye” that reaches 797HP! Despite this, the price is also affordable for this version. Prices for the Challenger start at just 29.000$ in the United States. Alternatives to this car include other legendary vehicles such as the Ford Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro.
