What is it?

The TR3 (Triumph Roadster 3) is a 2-seater roadster vehicle produced in three generations from 1955 to 1962. The hard-top was available as an option.

TR3 (1st gen.)

The TR3 has very rounded lines and is equipped with a 2.0 95HP engine, the same as the TR2, but boosted by 5HP thanks to the use of larger carburetors. TR3 and TR2 also share the chassis. The gearbox is manual with 4 gears and can be completed by an overdrive on the three highest gears. The braking system initially included only drum brakes, but from 1956 the front was equipped with standard disc brakes.

TR3A (2nd gen.)

Born in 1957, TR3A is an unofficial name for the second generation of the TR3. It distinguishes itself aesthetically by the redesigned headlights and the wider front grille. Thanks to various improvements, the engine has reached a power of 100HP.

TR3B (3rd gen.)

Introduced in 1961 and only commercialized for a year, the TR3B was quickly developed to be sold alongside the disappointing TR4. It was therefore an attempt by Triumph to save its range which proved to be a further failure. The engine of the TR3B is a 105HP and 172NM 2.1 inherited from the TR4.
