The Mustang 5th gen., produced from 2005 to 2014 also in the “Convertible” version, is respectful of tradition; the aesthetics confirm that we’re talking about an old-fashioned muscle car: sharp and decisive lines, but inefficient aerodynamics. Ford has personally produced very few of the components of this Mustang, as they were produced by specialized brands. It is a risky choice that has caused an increase in production costs, but despite this, the Mustang V has kept the selling price quite low. The interior is spartan and essential, it seems according to the philosophy of the engineers of this vehicle that on a muscle car a good steering wheel is more important than technology for geeks. Mechanically, the chassis is now twice as strong as the previous generation and the suspension is rigid-bridge in the rear and McPherson in the front. The engines, all very energy-intensive, are V6 or V8 (in this case we are talking about Mustang GT) and range from 205 to 305HP. Traction is strictly rear. In 2010, a restyling seeks to remedy the problem of missing technologies but does not mark any decisive changes. The success of this car is incredible: in 2005, half of the sports cars sold in the United States were 5th gen. Mustangs.
